Loved ones of the late Dalton Criss walked his body to an operating room Thursday in a ceremony honoring the young man, who donated his organs.
Criss died after a car crash in Plattsburgh on Monday. His mother is still recovering from her injuries.
"We hope a small part of him is going to be living on in somebody else," Danielle Criss, Dalton's sister, said Thursday.
The Honor Walk at the University of Vermont Medical Center is meant for those who are donating their organs. Criss' sisters said he signed up to be a donor at the age of 17.
"He turned from a little kid to an honorable man, so it makes sense that we walk for an honorable man," Lakita Washington Criss, the eldest sister, said.
There will be a candlelight vigil for Dalton Criss at Peru High School on Wednesday. He graduated this summer and was set to attend SUNY Plattsburgh this fall, where his father is a professor, this fall
